The musée Guimet is a partner of "Fontainebleau invites Korea"

From 5 June to 23 September, the musée Guimet and the château de Fontainebleau partner to showcase diplomatic relations between France and South Korea.

The musée Guimet has been at the very heart of these relations since 1891 and the opening of the first room dedicated to Korea, a civilisation then largely unknown by the French public. It went on to enrich its collections with donations from French Ambassadors to South Korea and passionate collectors.

In order to celebrate the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Korean Olympic delegation being hosted in Fontainebleau, the Château presents "Fontainebleau invites Korea". As a partner, the musée Guimet has loand several exceptional pieces from its collections, revealing the breadth and depth of the exchanges between the two countries;

The public is invited to discover ceramics and statues presented in Korean, French and English.

In partnership with the Préfecture de Paris et d’Ile-de-France, the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles d’Ile-de-France, the Centre National du Livre and the Centre Culturel Coréen (Korean Cultural Center).
