Guimet+, masterpieces from the musée Guimet on tour

From mangas to cinema and K-pop, Asian popular cultures are more and more represented in our everyday life. They are however still fairly unknown by the French audience. To give these culture more recognition and offer an introduction to Asia through the best of its artistic production, the musée national des arts asiatiques-Guimet expands for four years in several French cities in an innovative way.

The ambitious museum offer Guimet+, with both masterpieces and digital and sensory mediation, provides a wide audience with the keys to a first approach to Asia with the exploration of four cultural areas, one for each year: Japan, China, the Himalayan world and the Indian world. Each exhibition is designed as a entry point to discover the historical, artistic and cultural depth of those societies.

Guimet+ combines exhibitions, mediation and a dedicated cultural program. Each local partner shows the four exhibitions in a row – Japan, China, the Himalayan world and the Indian world – and adds, in partnership with local education and cultural players, a program tailored to their audience: visits, conferences, workshops and mediation for all, shows, concerts…

Each Guimet+ exhibits around thirty artworks or ensemble of artworks from the collections of the musée Guimet, shown in an immersive scenography.
