Pipa player (Chinese Lute) Lingling Yu invites Ming Zeng, grand master of dizi (traditional bamboo flute), for a recital of classical music pieces written during the Tang era.
Born in Hangzhou in China, Lingling Yu is a pipa virtuoso, a master of ancient Chinese music and Chinese music professor at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève (HEM). Starting at eight years old, she studies the violin, the erhu, the pipa and performs at concerts. At fourteen, she chooses to dedicate herself for the pipa and wins the first prize at the entry competition of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. At twenty-five, she wins the national competition of traditional Chinese music in Beijing. In 2016, she is nominated for the Swiss Music Grand Prix. Lingling Yu has earned worldwide recognition and plays in recitals of traditional, classical and modern music in the whole world.
